Hello automotive enthusiast and casual reader, I come to you today with a stunning offer. For the price of next to nothing, you can build and buy your dream supercar! Well, more like watch me build tasteful supercars that you guys might go out and buy later today due to my ultimate powers of persuasion.
Our format for this series is the same as seen in our Quarantine issue, where we covered these builds with a budget and two cars that have different approaches and build sheets. Our All-In budget today will be $110,000, which is a healthy cushion to afford a starter supercar with a few really nice upgrades, or a mid-range supercar with some special add-ons to set it apart from every other model of its caliber at the cars and coffee.
Build 1: The Starter Supercar
Our car for today is a 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS in a stunning Lava Orange with matching interior inserts, which is both a super cool and kind of rare finish. This car comes in at about $86,950, which gives us a healthy cushion for some upgrading.
Now on to some upgrades. Our base price for the car leaves us with $23,050 for upgrades, which will do great for a set of racing seats and a coaster. In all seriousness, we can actually really give this car a few high quality, really valuable, driving-oriented upgrades to make this thing the ultimate sport tourer.
Our upgrades come to $109,764.43, which just comes short of the budget.
Here is a collage of the mods and their respective prices:
With custom 3 piece enter locks, a full carbon intake, and clubsport suspension, this thing is going to be a fine-tuned track attacker with a refined sense of cruise-capability on the highway while you drive your Ferrari-dicing, Mclaren-slingshotting german missile back to its silo. Included are carbon front lip and a smaller spoiler for the rear, along with of course, Sparco helmet and glove attire for those amazingly comfortable track days.
Build 2: The Mid-range Maestro
Our mid-range car approaching the top of the budget is a stunner, with a three pointed star and a a lot of carbon fiber everywhere. The car for this build is a super nice 2018 Maserati Gran Turismo MC with a symphony of 8 cylinders. The car comes in at a decent $105,777 with a plethora of standard features that are way ahead of its time.
Let's see how we can elevate this super-special sports coupe with the $4,223 we have left after purchase.
Here is the image of the car with all of the above upgrades: A super-refined gentleman's track day demolisher with a healthy dose of retro-maserati-racer upgrades that have modern performance with subtle and classic styling. These upgrades are all geared towards giving this thing a true meaning of the gentleman's track day car, while giving all of the onlookers at the car show something new to look at.
You may not have spec'd these cars exactly as I have, or you may be thinking "how does he know my exact taste so well?", but the purpose of this mini-series is to give you an insight to what you can do to a car within a certain price point. Please let us know if you are interested in seeing a certain price bracket/car, and we will see if we can make an issue on it!
We're planning on sending out one of these issues weekly, so stay tuned on Instagram for more updates on this series and everything else going on at Supercars On Deck!
