How to stay active with Supercars during Coronavirus

So you're probably bored out of your skull right now. Browsing the internet, looking at car youtubes, and just basically passing the time until the daily adventure, taking the dog out. This is a chronic issue known as SFSS or Separation from Supercars Syndrome. All of those car meets are in the past decade, it seems. You haven't seen a rev battle in two months. No sweet sweet tire smoke in your lungs after a McLaren 720s burnout. I know how you feel. It's going to be ok though, because I have just the remedy to fix this horrible condition. There are two pathways to supercar redemption, and all of them are equally as fun and rewarding!

  1. Shopping for cars.

We all do it. And we do it a lot. But here is a time-consuming fun way of looking at supercars / cars. Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you, the Budget Configurator Method. The steps are simple, first you think of a scenario in which you have a budget for the entire project. Let's say we have 110K to work with, including the car. This ideally would have us with an entry-level supercar with a lot of tasteful upgrades and factory upgrades, or a mid-range supercar with wheels, a wrap and tint. Here is an example of how I did the entry-level one:

Here's our starter car. It's a first gen Gallardo with a few upgrades and some tasteful aesthetics.

At $89,737 with a little over 16k miles, it's a decent car.

Now for the upgrades.

In total, The Gallardo is a cool looking car. But with a Superleggera spoiler, GST bumper, wheels, exhaust and some interior and performance upgrades (all in carbon fiber of course) this bull is ready to steal the show!

Now on to the midrange supercar,

OK this car is a hell of a find at 94k , because it's a manual Carrera T with nice options and a simple but cool color combo. And also it only has 502 miles!! I'm excited to see what we can do with the remaining 15k to make this thing unique and desirable to anyone who sees it going down the road.

This is it. The gnarliest sounding 911 you'll ever hear. The exhaust is forged from the souls of dead lemans cars and an rb26's turbo lag, but damn when did a Porsche ever sound like it was going to rip your face off as much as the Soul performance exhaust one does? The video for that sound clip has the black C4S in it at the top of the page. Grab headphones and enjoy that video to pass the time as well. But overall, with the exhaust, carbon aero kit, wheels, a carbon shift knob for the yellow and Alcantara interior to compliment itself, and those sweet dump pipes coming out the back powder coated black, this is a hell of a sub 110k car.

2. Spec battle your friends

This one is engaging, fun and competitive. Just get a few supercar friends together and challenge them to a Spec Battle of the same car. You guys can go and build your favorite specs , then line them up in a chat with the other builders and you guys can decide a winner. You can do so many different cars online now, you can almost always find a car that everyone enjoys!

Example Spec :

(P.S. Thanks to VTM and the crew at Cars and Games for the idea)

There is two saviors of boredom for the coronavirus! I really decided you guys need to hear this and understand that all of us are struggling with this crazy time right now. Hope to catch another review in the coming weeks though!

All the best, The Supercar Ambassador
