The 2015 Porsche 911 GT3

Updated: Oct 6, 2019

This is our take on this beautiful example of German engineering!

Overview:

The Porsche 911 is the quintessential sports car. What makes it better? A big wing, carbon fiber bucket seats, and a paint-to-sample color hue! This 2015 911 GT3 is a pure performer with big boy stats. The 3.8l flat 6 makes a healthy 475 bhp and sounds absolutely amazing when you open it up.

This car's main gig is usually ripping up track days and nailing twisty bends as you smile ear to ear, but with the right options and opportunities, it can make for a really cool daily cruiser.

The Archetype and Experience:

If you've gone through our "Three Main Archetypes" review found under the Archetypes tab, you are probably thinking "Weapon". You are right, but wrong, because this car is multi-archetype. Multi-archetype cars are really cool because they always make great collection starters and additions. The GT3 is a Gentleman-Weapon because it has some pretty defined characteristics in both categories. It is a track monster when you want it to be, but can become a really nice sport cruiser when you need it to be.

The Porsche's interior is classy and sporty with Leather, Alcantara, and Carbon Fiber accents throughout.

The Porsche is a precision built fun machine. It is well thought out from the stitching on the dashboard to the tone of the exhaust at mid throttle, and doesn't try to outdo itself. The ride lets you know what you are riding over, but doesn't make your spine pay for the bumps and dips in the road. The overall fit and finish of the car is focused but accommodating, which is a great feel for the weekend joyrides with your friends.

The Exterior:

This car is slick and well-structured in the exterior department, utilizing track aero-inspired slopes and vents with curves in harmony.

The GT3 will stand out in any garage, but is humble enough to avoid any rubber-neckers hitting your Mercedes next to it while parallel parking.

This car's beautiful PTS (Paint to Sample) Signal Yellow paint job is stunning in person and is also very rare. Coupled with the black wheels and trim, the car's exterior accents are on point and really aesthetically pleasing. The RS cousin to this car features a more aggressive wing and a lot more vents, which lends to a younger or more track-focused buyer looking to get a good deal on great performance.

The Options/Packages available:

The GT3 has a lot of convenience-minded packages to suit the traveling owner who likes their performance car to go with them everywhere. One pretty comfortable option is the 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats, which have a TON of adjustability and are really nicely padded. This car came with the Sport Bucket Package, which features exposed carbon-fiber buckets with leather padded cushions, which look great and are the perfect touring/racing hybrid seat. You can also deck out the interior in body-colored inserts, carbon fiber galore, or an aluminum bonanza of trim pieces. You can also match your seat belts to the outside paint color, and match the contrast stitching to the outside as well (as counter-intuitive as it sounds, it ends up looking pretty cool).

The Power:

The flat 6 in this Porsche is very rewarding, giving you plenty of midrange thrust and some amazing downshift noises. On that note, please enjoy these videos of the GT3 looking cool and sounding like only a 3.8 Porsche can.

Should you consider buying one?

Yes, but take your time to find the one with the perfect options that suit your needs! So many first time GT3 buyers will find a good priced example with less than stellar options and settle because they don't think they will find as good of a deal. Trust me, waiting and searching multiple outlets will get you a comparable deal, and have some more of those really nice options you want. Also, the aftermarket has been kind to Porsches, so if you don't like the wheels or paint at first but it has a great interior, feel free to invest into some wheels and a wrap if you have the time and money. But overall, this car can be super rewarding to own with its grown-up sense of style and sporty feel. Feel free to ask us any questions related to this article in our Inquiries chat!
