We've all seen a car once in our lives that made us say "what even is that thing?". The embodiment of this expression is in the form of three very revolutionary, progressive works of art known as the Holy Trinity. These cars come from a few different regions, but all of them are equally as stunning to the eye and the ear. The cars are also the second or third entry in the hypercar segment from these automakers, and they show how far hypercars have really come in the last 10-20 years.
The first car (in no particular order) comes from the land of Ferrari and is aptly named, because its full title is "Ferrari LaFerrari" which is literally just saying this car is so darn Italian it embodies Ferrari by name and form. The car is powered by a V-12 with hybrid assist to make it even more rapid to drive, and produces an astounding 949 HP and can zoom all the way to 217 mph given you are brave enough and have enough runway to do so. Overall, the car is visually so stunning to look at, even in photos. It is also a near-spiritual experience to hear that earth-vibrating V-12 noise that comes out the tailpipes of this beast at any level of throttle.

The car is sculpted in the most Ferrari way, but is still distinctly original and remarkable. The nose is an angry snort, and the tail is the sculpture of the wind. The car overall is furious, beautiful, and as Ferrari as it gets.
Next up is the Porsche 918, a German based ballistic missile for the road, with all of the tech and Porsche-ness to back it up. This car is a real example of what the team in Germany can accomplish for a customer, with everything thought about in an extra special way, from the wheels to the center console. The car does a great job of being noticeably special while still being very identifiable, which is such a hard feat when dealing with such extremes. Porsche fit a 4.6L V8 and a plug-in hybrid system to the car to create a pavement-crushing 944 lb-ft of torque with 887 hp on tap for almost-instantaneous acceleration after 3 mph or so. The 0-60 time that this car has is quite incredible, with an estimated 2.2 sec. run to 0-60 and a ~9 second quarter mile time at around 150 mph! The car is so curvy but sharp at the same time, the exterior has an effect like liquid wax running over a sculpture in this amazing Burgundy Red color.

The car sounds raucous but refined, with the rumble and whine of the twin turbo V8 being piped through the top-exit Porsche exhaust that tunes the sound to be resonant but classy even at full throttle. This car is so engaged and thought out, driving it is an exercise in measured perfection at times. I have had the pleasure to see Porsche 918's on multiple occasions and each time they are so cool to behold because of the form and function they possess.
Last but most definitely not least, the McLaren P1 from Great Britain. This is a spaceship that just happens to be street-legal and has wheels, and I'm happy it exists. Not only on the exterior do you feel like you are looking at an alien vehicle, but also from the inside the car is out of this world-futuristic.

The car is powered by a twin turbo V8 with a hybrid assist, which makes 903 hp and outputs a very McLaren sound, giving you all those twin-turbo eight-cylinder sounds in an extremely engaging package. The car has a really high emphasis on weight reduction, with unnecessary weight cut out to create a really raw and engaging experience when behind the wheel. The car is a real masterclass in subtle engineering and creative use of materials, while sacrificing nothing by the way of excellence in the driving experience and quality. This is such a great car to drive on the road, that you'll want to go out for coffee just to cruise around in this otherworldly rocket of a car.
Overall, the Holy Trinity is every angle on the hypercar, from the ferocity and finesse of the Porsche, to the staccato and rumble of the LaFerrari and the tremor and surge of the P1. This trio of groundbreaking, ultra-fast and powerful hypercars will only increase in value as the years pass, and we will likely never see another car made by each manufacturer like these. These cars are true one-of-an-era cars and we will look forward to the next generation of hypercars to come.
That's going to be all for today,
See you in the next one,
The Supercar Ambassador.
